T. Grace Floyd

- Savannah - T. Grace Floyd died peacefully in Savannah, Georgia on February 9, 2010. Mrs. Floyd was born in Eastman, Georgia and raised in Blackville, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Eugene and Mabel Eva Ussery. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Burnis E. Ussery and Jack W. Ussery.
Mrs. Floyd attended Wesleyan College where she studied nursing. She later served as Dr. Henry A. Brandt's practice administrator and nursing assistant for more than twenty years.
On December 18, 1944 she married Benjamin N. Floyd, Sr. at Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah. They were married for 58 years. Mrs. Floyd remained an active member of Calvary Baptist Temple for over fifty years.
She is survived by her three children, Benjamin N. Floyd Jr. and his wife Linda Floyd of Mansfield, Ohio, Shawn F. Tice of Savannah, Georgia, and Michael K. Floyd and his wife Teresa B. Floyd of Marietta, Georgia. She is also survived by her two nephews Jacque M. Ussery and his wife Vivian Ussery of Blackville, South Carolina, and Mr. Wayne Ussery of Aiken, South Carolina. Mrs. Floyd is also survived by five loving grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The Reverend Timothy Foster of Independent Presbyterian Church will conduct a family graveside service on Friday, February 12th at 4:30 p.m. in Blackville, South Carolina.
